Heritage month

BACKGROUND

Heritage Day on September 24 is a day that celebrates South Africa's roots, their rich, vibrant, and diverse cultures. South Africa is called the ''Rainbow Nation'' due to its colour and diversity, and this is why Heritage Day exists.

 

Our heritage provides clues to our past and how our society has evolved. It helps us examine our history and traditions and enables us develop an awareness about ourselves. It helps us understand and explain why we are the way we are.

THE BRIEF

Each month we have an Editorial Board for social media content that goes out throughout the month. We create a monthly big idea "theme" which gets rolled out across all creatives.

SOLUTION

This month we decided to use "Heritage Day" for our big idea. I conceptualised a golden thread themed template to utilise across the entire month's social content. Using mix media to visually portray individual South African's heritage. Who they are, what they do and where they come from (Gogo/ Grandmother; Teacher; Mechanic; School boy; Ford employee) and used the same theme for Heritage Day as well as Rhino Day too.
